The Butcher's Daughter is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Cook to join our plant-forward culinary team. We are looking for individuals with experience in a professional pastry or baking environment, who are passionate about scratch-made desserts, laminated doughs, vegan or gluten-free pastry work, and maintaining the integrity of our seasonal, ingredient-driven menu.

This position is for you if you have:

  • A strong teamwork mentality


  • A positive, curious, and continually learning attitude


  • Experience in pastry production, baking, or dessert plating (preferred)


  • A current Food Handlers Card (optional)

  • Work diligently and quickly without supervision

    • Organized, clean, and detail-oriented work habits


    • A passion for plant-based or health-conscious baking (a plus)

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Prepare high-quality pastry items according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and plating guidelines


    • Produce baked goods, desserts, doughs, batters, fillings, and sauces with consistency and accuracy


    • Ensure all pastry items are fresh, properly stored, and visually appealing


    • Taste all prepared items to ensure quality and flavor standards


    • Follow established recipes correctly 


    • Maintain accurate records and assist with production logs when needed


    • Clean and sanitize pastry workspaces, equipment, and storage areas at all times


    • Properly store or discard extra product following safe food-handling guidelines


    • Maintain organized refrigeration, freezer, and dry storage areas


    • Operate and maintain pastry equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and smallwares


    • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory as needed


    • Report maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to a supervisor immediately


    • Attend kitchen meetings, trainings, and safety sessions


    • Maintain positive working relationships across the BOH/FOH team


    • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean, safe kitchen


    • Perform additional duties as assigned
