Event Chef

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Banquet Production Cook to join our team in preparing high-quality food for events in a fast-paced culinary environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume catering or commercial kitchen setting and be proficient in knife skills, meat fabrication, and classical cooking techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare high-quality food using standardized recipes and production guidelines.


• Perform meat fabrication including portioning, trimming, and prepping proteins for events.


• Prepare stocks, sauces, soups, and other foundational elements of the menu.


• Execute large-batch cooking for banquets using appropriate techniques (e.g., roasting, braising, steaming, etc.).


• Utilize bag and chill systems for safe food preparation and storage.


• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper labeling in all storage areas including walk-ins, dry storage, and prep areas.


• Ensure all food is prepared and stored in accordance with HACCP and DOH guidelines.


• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to meet production timelines and event needs.


• Assist in the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of workstations and production areas.


• Demonstrate effective time management and prioritization to meet tight production schedules.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume catering or commercial kitchen setting preferred.


• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices.


• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately and consistently.


• Excellent organizational and time management skills.


• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.


• Able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.


• Positive attitude and strong team orientation.
