Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders, according to department policy and procedure. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Performs thorough and complete evaluation of communication, cognition, and swallowing disability to determine appropriate function upon receipt of physician's referral.
* Administers Speech Therapy treatment to patients according to departmental policy and procedure in order to maximize their potential functioning.
* Maintains and completes accurate documentation, departmental records and reports as established by departmental policies and procedures.
* Ensures effective communication regarding Speech Therapy Programs between patient, family, physician's and team members to maximize the patient's functional abilities.
* Operates and maintains equipment and environment in a safe and orderly manner.
* Participates in Department's Student Program.
* Considers the age of the patients served, applies knowledge of growth and development and age-specific techniques through the life span (neonates/infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients) in planning and implementing care.
* Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.
* Maintains safe medication room access.
* Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the Organization.
* Contributes to the effective operation of the Organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance.

* patient family centered care into practice (dignity, respect, information sharing, and participation).

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

*WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:*
Works inside a typical therapy setting, outpatient clinic, or off ground/unit activities as indicated. May be required to work a flexible schedule. Exposure to stress of dealing with patients/families experiencing pain/discomfort or who have physical/mental disabilities.
*CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:*
Has contact with patients and patient family members, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, physicians, and other department Associates.
*Minimum Requirements*
*Education:*
Master's Degree in speech/language pathology or communication disorders.
*Experience:*
Experience or completed Clinical Internship preferred.
*License/Certification:*
ASHA certification CCC/SLP; Kentucky Board of Speech - Language Pathology License.
Job Types: Full-time, PRN
Pay: $31.88 - $47.82 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
