*Reports to*: Director of Early Childhood Education
*FLSA Status:* Exempt
*Summary:* Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, provide occupational therapy to the children enrolled in the SMILE program and Itinerant occupational therapy. Also provide information and support to the children’s parents and classroom teachers in order to facilitate improved motor skills and sensory processing. This role requires excellent collaboration with all RCN divisions.
*Duties and Responsibilities* include the following, but are not limited to:
1) Plan and implement a variety of activities in the Integrated Classrooms, Therapy Room and in the
Community to work on each child’s goals and objectives as specified on the IEP.\*
2) Utilize the push-in therapy model for service when appropriate to meet natural environments and/or least restrictive guidelines.\*
3) Ensure all children on caseload have current occupational therapy prescriptions matching IEP.
4) Set up and maintain appropriate therapy equipment and space, keeping safety always at the forefront.\*
5) Complete IEP updates in a complete and timely fashion.
6) Complete annual review testing, reports and IEP goals updates. Share results with parents/caregivers during parent conferences. Present information at CPSE and CSE meetings.\*
7) Advocate for changes in services as needed.
8) Complete logs and timesheets in a complete and timely fashion for Special Education Billing and
Payroll processing.
9) Attend team meetings and share suggestions for carry-over of OT goals in the classroom.
10) Integrate as a full classroom team member to support appropriate classroom needs.
11) Assist classroom team in problem solving. i.e., incorporating sensory based strategies as part of a behavior plan.\*
12) Meet regularly with supervisor and request further support if needed.
13) Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-services.
14) Attend appropriate outside trainings and conferences.

16) Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.

*Qualifications: *

*Language Ability:*
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, the general public and/or boards of directors.
*Education/Experience: *
Must be licensed, requiring a Master's degree in occupational therapy, 6 months of supervised Early Childhood fieldwork, and passing scores on national and State examinations. Education and training. A master's degree or higher in occupational therapy is the minimum requirement for entry into the field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
