Position Summary
The Staff Pharmacist plays a vital role in overseeing daily sterile and non-sterile compounding operations within New Solutions’ closed-door pharmacy. This position requires a pharmacist with strong technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep commitment to safety, compliance, and patient care. The ideal candidate combines clinical proficiency with leadership and operational insight to ensure full compliance with USP , , and standards while maintaining the highest levels of product quality, accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Compounding Operations
* Oversee and occasionally participate in the preparation of sterile (injectable) and non-sterile compounded medications.
* Ensure strict adherence to USP , , , and applicable state board regulations.
* Maintain complete and accurate formulation records, batch logs, and beyond-use dating based on stability and risk level.
* Monitor and maintain cleanroom performance, including air quality testing, personnel garbing, and environmental monitoring.
* Oversee daily workflow—verifying formulations, labeling, order entries, and final product checks.
* Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across all operational levels.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
* Conduct internal audits and ensure readiness for inspections (e.g., BOP, NABP).
* Oversee quality control testing such as sterility, endotoxin, and potency verification.
* Investigate deviations, complaints, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
* Maintain and revise SOPs as required by evolving regulatory standards or process improvements.
Clinical Support & Communication
* Review and verify prescriptions and compounded formulations for accuracy, safety, and therapeutic appropriateness.
* Provide clinical guidance and consultations to prescribers regarding dosing, formulation options, and therapy alternatives.
* Serve as a professional liaison between the pharmacy and providers to ensure safe, consistent patient care.
Qualifications
* Education: PharmD or equivalent from an accredited college of pharmacy.
* Licensure: Active Texas pharmacist license in good standing.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in sterile and non-sterile compounding, or 5+ years of retail pharmacy experience.
* Supervisory or lead pharmacist experience (2+ years preferred).
* Certifications: Sterile compounding certification or training (e.g., BCSCP, ASHP Sterile Compounding Certificate) strongly preferred.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 16 per week
