Restaurant Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven operations professional to lead our team and drive business success.

The restaurant operations manager will oversee daily activities, manage staff, and ensure the company meets its operational goals. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills.

  1. Ensure exceptional customer service standards, guest satisfaction, front-of-house (FOH) operations, training, and guest engagement

  2. Lead onboarding, develop + deliver training materials, provide ongoing coaching, ensure service standards are up to par

  3. Act as a mentor, engage with guests, manage reservations and seating flow, handle service recovery

  4. Create + manage schedules, hire needed talent, document disciplinary issues, foster a culture of accountability and respect

  5. Curate + update wine lists, lead staff wine education/tastings, maintain relationships with distributors and industry partners

  6. Oversee FOH inventory, maintain operation logs, complete end-of-day reports, refine systems, report performance metrics

  7. Plan, coordinate, and execute events/private dining, set FOH sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs), improve revenue strategies

  8. Use standard operating procedures (SOPs) for training, apply them in FOH operations, and work with operations teams to develop updates.

  9. Apply menu updates and monitor performance (best sellers, low performers)

  10. Communicate daily with staff, guests, and management through logs and reports. Attend weekly meetings with management

  11. Oversee FOH supply needs and communicate with operations teams on what is required

  12. Report FOH maintenance issues to Operations, and assist as needed

  13. Be visible during service, lead by example, identify improvement opportunities, communicate with management.

  14. Oversee daily business operations and ensure efficiency.

  15. Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and profitability.

  16. Lead, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve performance targets.

  17. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

  18. Improve customer satisfaction and maintain high service standards.

  19. Identify market trends and opportunities to enhance business success.

  20. Build and maintain relationships with vendors, clients, and stakeholders.
