About the Role

We're seeking a skilled culinary professional who can lead and motivate our kitchen team. Korean culinary experience is essential for this role, as we strive to innovate on seasonal menu items that balance Korean flavors with a modern twist.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent knife skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. They should be able to maintain high food quality, presentation standards, and consistency throughout their shifts.

  • Lead and oversee kitchen line during service

  • Manage prep schedules, product rotation, and inventory levels
  • Uphold DOH sanitation standards and ensure A-level compliance
  • Train, coach, and support BOH team members

Kitchen Leadership & Daily Operations

The successful candidate will also have the ability to develop creative and innovative dishes that showcase their culinary skills. They should be able to contribute to menu ideation and development, assist with plating guides and recipe documentation, and create specials that highlight their creativity while fitting the brand.

Cost & Quality Management

In addition to these skills, the ideal candidate should have knowledge of Korean flavors, sauces, and techniques. They should be able to manage food costs and waste control, work with ownership on ordering and vendor relationships, and maintain equipment and communicate repair needs.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or Chef in fast-paced NYC restaurants
  • Strong knife skills, speed, organization, and calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of Korean flavors, sauces, and techniques
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
  • Flexibility for nights, weekends, and peak service periods
  • DOH Food Protection Certificate required (or willingness to obtain immediately)
