UltraLEDs, headquartered in Trafford Park, Manchester, is the UK’s leading supplier of LED products and components. After a decade of rapid expansion, the company is undertaking a major systems transformation programme, including the implementation of Microsoft Business Central (BC) and the launch of a new Shopify-based website.
Effective delivery of this programme will provide the systems foundation for UltraLEDs’ next decade of expansion.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to coordinate internal delivery and ensure alignment with external specialist partners.
*Role Overview*
The Technical Project Manager will lead the delivery of a business-critical systems transformation project, ensuring internal resource, activities, and schedules align with those of external delivery partners. This includes ERP implementation, systems integration, data migration, and the launch of a new e-commerce platform.
The role requires a disciplined, structured project manager with proven experience in complex IT or digital transformation environments. The TPM will deliver through a lightweight PRINCE2 model within an Agile framework.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Project Governance & Delivery*
* Plan and coordinate internal workstreams across BC and Shopify projects.
* Maintain a lightweight PRINCE2 Agile governance framework.
* Align internal schedules, dependencies, and resource plans with partner delivery timelines.
* Track progress against key milestones; identify risks and delivery conflicts.
*Internal Resource & Stakeholder Management*
* Schedule internal teams and resource to meet deadlines.
* Ensure clear communication, priorities, and workload.
* Support coordination with external agencies.
*Risk, Change Control & Issue Management*
* Identify, log, and monitor risks, issues, and mitigation actions.
* Enforce a structured change control process.
* Work with internal owners to manage operational impacts and ensure controlled transitions.
*Agile Delivery Support*
* Support Agile ceremonies.
* Ensure deliverables, handoffs, and acceptance criteria are clearly defined and validated.
* Maintain alignment between Agile sprint outputs and PRINCE2 project governance.
*Operational Readiness*
* Coordinate UAT planning, execution, and acceptance criteria with internal leads.
* Support business readiness and process adoption activities.
* Manage transition into BAU support following go-live.
*Required Skills & Experience*
* Management of complex IT infrastructure, ERP, or digital transformation projects.
* Resource planning and cross-functional scheduling.
* Coordination of internal teams with external vendors.
* PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner (or equivalent).
* Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
* Comfortable working on-site in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment.
*Contract Details*
* Approximately 8 days per month.
* 6-month contract.
* Outside IR35; delivery through limited company.
* On-site at Manchester HQ.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £450.00-£700.00 per day
