Sheet Metal Journeyman

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team, providing essential expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of sheet metal systems across various construction and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction-related trades, with proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints, and experience working with hand tools and welding equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision, technical knowledge, and craftsmanship. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain sheet metal systems in commercial and residential settings
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to perform tasks efficiently
• Perform caulking, sealing, and insulation to ensure systems are weatherproofed and energy-efficient
• Assist with construction painting, flooring installation, tile laying, plumbing, and other related trades as needed
• Conduct restoration work on existing structures to improve functionality and appearance
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure project specifications are met
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols at all times

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a sheet metal mechanic or in a similar construction-related role
• Proficiency with hand tools, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, welding, caulking, plumbing, flooring installation, tile laying, carpentry, restoration work, and construction painting
• Ability to read technical drawings such as schematics for proper system installation
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment effectively
• Physical capability to lift heavy materials and work in various environmental conditions
• Valid license or certification is preferred but not mandatory

Pay: $36.00-$47.00 per hour
