Job Summary

As an Apprentice Overhead Door Technician, you will work alongside experienced technicians to learn how to install, service, and repair overhead doors and related systems. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone mechanically inclined, hardworking, and eager to develop into a fully certified technician.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with installation of residential & commercial overhead doors and operators
  • Support senior technicians with repairs to springs, cables, tracks, rollers, and motors
  • Help with routine maintenance and inspections
  • Learn basic low-voltage wiring for commercial operators
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Interact professionally with customers while shadowing trained technicians
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, kneeling, and working at heights and feeling at ease when using ladders.
  • Other duties as needed to support the service team

What We're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to take direction and work well on a team
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Physically fit and capable of manual labor- lifting over 50lbs
  • Comfortable working at heights

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Basic computer and mobile device literacy
  • Experience in construction or mechanical trades is an asset but not required
  • Fall arrest, Scissor Lift and Whmis training ( can provide for right candidate)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 44 per week
