    Speech/Language Teacher - Full Time - Exeter High School

     

    Exeter High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our high school Special Education team. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting a diverse range of learners, including neurodiverse students such as those with autism, ADHD, language-based learning disabilities, and other communication needs. This role is essential in helping students build communication skills that foster academic success, social engagement, and independence.

     

    Essential Functions 

     

    Conduct evaluations, develop reports, and participate in IEP meetings as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

     

    Design and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans targeting communication, language, speech, and social-pragmatic skills.

     

    Work closely with teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and paraprofessionals to support students across general education and special education settings.

     

    Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and adjust interventions based on ongoing assessment and data collection.

     

    Support students in developing communication skills that enhance classroom participation, self-advocacy, and transition readiness.

     

    Provide consultation and training to staff on communication strategies and supports for neurodiverse learners.

     

    Collaborate with families to ensure consistency of strategies and services.

      Qualifications
    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

    • Valid state SLP license and/or teaching certification (as required by state or district).

    • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; CFY candidates may also be considered.

    • Experience working with adolescents or neurodiverse learners is strongly preferred.

    • Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech-language intervention, assistive technology, and social-communication supports
