A Brief Overview
Performs scrub duties and assists surgeons with procedures.
What you will do
  • Assists surgeons by handing required instruments during procedures without difficulty.
  • Documents controls accurately and correctly from Steris DX and flash sterilization.
  • Performs all suture and instrument counts without error.
  • Stores products appropriately.
  • Checks for outdated supplies, noting before opening on the back table.
  • Selects product(s) for procedures.
  • Orients new staff as assigned.
  • Maintains turnover time within acceptable limits.
  • Maintains awareness of safety hazards and use of equipment to prevent damage or harm to personnel or patients.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
  • High School or GED Equivalent
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
  • Less than 1 year previous healthcare experience
