Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Oracle Backend Developer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle Database, backend development, and strong expertise in building scalable, high-performance applications. This role requires a Secret Security Clearance, as you will be working on sensitive and classified government projects. As a Senior Oracle Backend Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain backend systems that power critical systems and services. You will be responsible for writing efficient and optimized SQL queries, designing database schemas, and ensuring data integrity and security.As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend systems using Oracle Database technologiesCollaborate with front-end developers and other team members to integrate Oracle databases with various front-end technologiesWrite and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database triggers to support backend applicationsPerform database tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure high performance and availabilityEnsure database security, backups, and data integrity in compliance with best practices and security protocolsParticipate in code reviews and mentor junior developersWork closely with system architects to design and implement scalable database solutionsProvide technical support for database-related issues and system upgradesDocument database designs, processes, and configurationsAdhere to government and organizational security standards, ensuring compliance with Secret Security Clearance requirementsBasic QualificationsSecret Security Clearance (active or ability to obtain)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field5+ years of experience as an Oracle Backend Developer or similar roleProficient in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Database administrationStrong experience in database design, query optimization, and performance tuningExperience with Oracle Database 12c or higherFamiliarity with RESTful APIs and integration of Oracle databases with other systemsAbility to write clean, maintainable, and scalable codeStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced and evolving environmentMust be a U.S. CitizenIf applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offeredPreferred QualificationsExperience with Oracle Data Guard, Oracle RAC, or other high availability configurations. Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud). Experience with Agile methodologies and version control tools like Git.
