Role: Senior UX Strategist
Location: Calgary, AB
Duration: 2 Months
We are seeking a Senior User Experience Strategist to lead the development and evolution of user experience strategy for our customers. You will play a critical role in aligning user needs with business goals, defining experience visions, and shaping product roadmaps through user-centered insights and design thinking. This role bridges the gap between research, design, product, and business strategy to create coherent, scalable experiences across channels.
1 Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Planning
o Develop and champion holistic UX strategies that align with business objectives and customer needs.
o Define experience principles and frameworks to guide cross-functional design and development efforts.
o Translate business goals and customer insights into experience roadmaps and service blueprints.
• User & Market Research
o Synthesize research findings, competitive analysis, and user data into strategic insights.
o Identify unmet user needs and emerging behavioral trends to inform product and service direction.
o Collaborate with UX researchers, analysts, and product teams to define hypotheses and test plans.
• Experience Architecture
o Create high-level information architectures, user journeys, and ecosystem maps to clarify the end-to-end user experience.
o Identify friction points, gaps, and opportunities across user touchpoints.
o Advocate for accessibility, consistency, and inclusive design practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
o Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions with business stakeholders, customers, and product teams.
o Act as a strategic advisor to cross-functional leaders, ensuring UX is embedded early in product and service planning.
o Influence decision-making by clearly articulating UX strategy and value to non-design audiences.
• Measurement & Evolution
o Define success metrics tied to experience outcomes (e.g., satisfaction, engagement, task completion).
o Partner with analytics teams to evaluate user experience performance over time.
o Continuously iterate on experience strategies based on feedback, data, and business shifts.
2 Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in UX, product design, service design, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a strategic or lead role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX strategy work (e.g., journey maps, ecosystem models, experience visions).
• Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment around customer experience outcomes.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design, service design, and design thinking methodologies.
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in tools like Figma, Miro, Adobe CC, or similar.
• Experience working in agile product development environments.
3 Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of design systems, content strategy, or omnichannel service design.
Background in human-computer interaction, psychology, or business strategy is a plus
