Maintenance Rotational Work – Industrial Millwright/Mechanic

Overview:

-We are looking a reliable field tradesperson confident and capable in managing work together in crews of multiple trades (millwright, pipefitter, welder, iron worker) for a rotational position 2 weeks on/off for a continual basis.

-This position will work in close coordination with existing plant/project supervisors, shift supervisors, operations, engineers, and tradespeople.

-This position supports Tacora Resources on a 24/7 basis in all weather conditions requiring overtime, remote work, 12 hr shifts, scheduled rotations and shutdown/emergency work as required.

-Ability to commute to flight hub with routes to Wabush, NL

Expectations of Applicant:

Applicants are expected to be proficient in the following:

-Inspect, maintain, disassemble, repair, test, install, align, and other technical and maintenance operations associated with a wide variety of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, mills, pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, motors and furnaces/dryers, boilers, to manufacturer's specifications and existing maintenance practices.

-Inspect and examine machinery/equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions. Identify and troubleshoot any noted issues and implement corrective actions to restore machinery/equipment to operating condition.

-Carry out planned and preventative maintenance, scheduled work/project work, and emergency breakdown repairs of rotating equipment.

-Maintain records of work, maintain a clean work environment, focus on safety, respect employer/client policies.

-Provide training and act as a leader/keeper for fellow employees.

Desired Applicant:

• Licensed industrial millwright (from apprentice through journeyman/red seal)

• Outstanding work ethic with exceptional discipline, attendance, and safety record

• Ideal candidates have at least (4) years of experience in heavy industrial settings with work on either construction, commissioning, or maintenance of pumps/rotating equipment.

• Knowledge trouble shooting mechanical equipment.

• Knowledge of or certifications in confined space, fall arrest, lockout/tagout, WHMIS, ability to wear respiratory protection, ability to pass a medical exam, ability to work long hours in changing weather conditions.

• Knowledge and experience working in the millwright trade with respect to tooling, equipment, and materials common to the trade.

• Knowledge of specifications (ex. API686) and common pumps would be considered an asset.

• Applicant must be able to complete scheduled drug and alcohol testing as required per client(s).

Pay: $38.00-$50.00 per hour
