Approximately 80% of the role focuses on compensation (market analysis, job evaluation, salary structure design, compensation cycle leadership, and cross-border competitiveness), with the remaining 20% supporting North American benefits, particularly Canadian benefits analytics, compliance, and vendor coordination.

The incumbent acts as a subject matter expert for North American compensation and supports broader Total Rewards strategy, including global projects, global job architecture, and M&A due diligence and integration. This role partners closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Finance, and colleagues across the Global Total Rewards function. The role reports directly to the Global Head of Total Rewards, based in the US.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead advanced compensation analyses for U.S. and Canadian roles, including market pricing, job evaluation, salary range design, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Own key components of the annual compensation cycle (merit, promotions, adjustments, modeling, audit validation, reporting).
  • Advise HRBPs and Talent Acquisition on salary decisions, job leveling, internal equity, and total compensation offers for North America, including sign-on bonuses and other special incentives.
  • Maintain and enhance compensation frameworks, salary structures, benchmarking mappings, and governance documentation across North America.
  • Conduct specialized analyses on pay competitiveness, compression, pay equity, and market trends.
  • Support modeling and analysis for North American incentive programs (including sales incentives), equity planning, and compensation-related operational improvements.
  • Coordinate with TR colleagues globally in the ongoing revision, administration, and communication of the global long-term incentives; be accountable for representing North American market competitive practice and regulatory issues to the global team.
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis as required by the business.

Advanced Market Analysis & Job Evaluation

  • Conduct complex market pricing using Radford, Mercer, and other surveys; maintain accurate benchmark mapping across jurisdictions.
  • Lead job evaluation and grade placement using Bora's Global Job Architecture; guide HRBPs and Talent Acquisition on leveling and calibration.
  • Develop and present detailed analyses comparing market competitiveness across Canada and the United States. Coordinate the analysis with other countries.

North America Benefits Support (Secondary Focus — 20%)

  • Provide robust analytical support for North American benefits programs, with strong emphasis on Canadian benefits cost modeling, renewals analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Partner with Canadian benefits and HR teams on provincial compliance, vendor reporting, eligibility audits, and plan documentation.
  • Support U.S. benefits analytics, data validation, and benefits reporting as needed.
  • Assist in developing Total Rewards communication materials and employee education resources.
  • Ensure awareness of compliance requirements under relevant federal and provincial legislation.

Global Total Rewards & M&A Support

  • Lead analytical workstreams supporting global Total Rewards initiatives, including job architecture evolution, global compensation frameworks, and Total Reward harmonization.
  • Support M&A due diligence (data analysis, modeling of acquired pay structures, benefits comparisons, equity implications) and post-acquisition integration activities.
  • Partner with Global Total Reward, HRIS, and Finance teams on cross-border compensation and benefits initiatives.

Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Use Workday and analytical tools to generate sophisticated reports, dashboards, and models.
  • Support testing, configuration updates, and process improvements related to Total Rewards systems and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance Total Reward processes, templates, modeling tools, and documentation to drive accuracy and efficiency.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.

Experience

  • Advanced proficiency with compensation benchmarking tools (Radford, Mercer) required.
