Position Summary

As a key member of the Resort Leadership Team, the
Human Resources Manager
plays a vital role in creating a culture that reflects our core values of excellence, integrity, and community. This role leads all aspects of the employee experience — from attracting top talent to fostering a supportive, high-performing workplace where every team member feels valued and inspired to deliver exceptional guest experiences

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for all resort departments, ensuring a strong fit with our service culture.
  • Build relationships with local schools, tourism programs, and community partners to attract seasonal and year-round talent.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation to ensure new team members are welcomed, trained, and set up for success.

Culture, Engagement & Recognition

  • Champion a people-first culture that supports collaboration, accountability, and pride in service.
  • Design and implement engagement programs, recognition events, and seasonal celebrations that strengthen team connection.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and resource for leaders and employees, providing support in conflict resolution and workplace communication.

Training & Development

  • Partner with department heads to identify learning needs and deliver relevant training initiatives.
  • Support leadership development programs that grow internal talent and prepare future leaders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and feedback.

HR Compliance & Policy Leadership

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of BC Employment Standards, WorkSafeBC, and Human Rights legislation.
  • Develop and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to reflect best practices and resort values.
  • Support occupational health and safety initiatives and joint health & safety committees.

Performance, Compensation & Benefits

  • Guide managers through performance review and coaching processes.
  • Assist in developing compensation strategies that attract and retain high-performing team members.
  • Administer benefits, payroll coordination, and employee wellness programs.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-4 years of progressive HR experience; hospitality or resort experience preferred.
  • CPHR designation (or working toward it) is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of BC labour laws, employment standards, Foreign Worker programs and workplace compliance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

Compensation

Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
