This team is the core features team for Workplace and is ultimately responsible for this product’s success and failure. We are looking for a senior engineer who is capable of being fullstack, but is excited to be backend heavy in their work. Our senior engineers lead major product features, design systems, and mentor other engineers. This is an early-stage opportunity to shape a rocket ship product and influence its direction. Since the pandemic, Envoy has become an employee workplace management product including features like Scheduling, Desk Reservations, Conference Room Management, Occupancy Analytics, Badging and Access Control, Mapping, and Health & Safety tracking. We want this individual to drive the end-to-end Product Engineering process: problem definition, solution exploration, system design, code execution, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

And to be obsessed with enabling team members to improve “Product Velocity” — shipping new products quickly through creating clean abstractions and systems. This onsite position requires 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) in our San Francisco HQ office. You Will

Help us scale: Our Employees product is used by tens of thousands daily; you will be key to expansion. Design core backend software components supporting our Workplace product. Drive system design and architecture. Lead engineering projects to completion, advocating for quality and ambitious goals. Be an end-user advocate, whether they are customers or external developers. We believe that strong engineers can learn any stack, but we currently use: Kotlin and Ruby on Rails for backend Ember, React, and Typescript for frontend Postgres for database AWS for infrastructure You Are
