Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Landman with strong oil and gas land knowledge, particularly in Oklahoma. This role will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, and managing land agreements, conducting title research, assisting in acquisition due diligence and ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in lease acquisitions, title review, curative work, and regulatory filings in Oklahoma's unique oil and gas environment. This is an independent contractor role with the potential to transition into a full-time employment opportunity.

An ideal candidate will be trustworthy, driven, pragmatic, and a self-starter. Candidate must be self-motivated and passionate to perform job duties with little supervision. Candidate is also required to have strong interpersonal and communications skills as well as strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities:

·       Negotiate, draft, and manage oil and gas leases, surface use agreements, rights-of way, joint operating agreements, unit agreements and related contracts.

·       Conduct title research and verify mineral and leasehold ownership.

·       Prepare, review, and file regulatory forms with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Bureau of Indian Affairs and other agencies.

·       Identify and resolve title defects, including preparing curative instruments such as affidavits of heirship and stipulations.

·       Maintain accurate land and ownership records.

·       Track lease obligations, expirations, rentals, and other deadlines.

·       Support due diligence efforts for acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.

·       Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and operations teams to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

·       Ensure compliance with existing land agreements.

Education and Experience

  • Required:
    A bachelor's degree in Energy Management/Petroleum Land Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years
    of direct oil and gas land experience in Oklahoma (required).
  • AAPL Certification
    -RPL or CPL (required).

·     Preference given to candidates that bring demonstrated expertise gained from working with both a large independent operator and a smaller company, providing valuable perspective on the differing demands and efficiencies of each environment.

Schedule and Structure:

  • Hybrid work from home position with frequent field travel to Oklahoma fields and possibly Wyoming.
  • Candidate must be based in Oklahoma.

Travel Requirements

:

  • 1-2 weeks of travel per quarter to the fields within Oklahoma and possibly Wyoming

·       Working in ambient temperatures of -40°F to 100°F

·       Work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, mud, etc. – work is performed in hazardous driving and working conditions all season of the year.

·       Exposure to hazardous facilities including moving equipment and H2S environments.

Base Pay Range:

Contract Rate $90/hour

Salary subject to negotiation upon transition to full-time employment.

Restricted Stock Units: TBD upon transition to full-time employment.
