Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support core packet network elements including UPF, SMF, GGSN, MME, AMF, NRF, SMSF, NEF, SGSN, MAG, and ePDG to ensure high availability.
- Analyze and troubleshoot network issues related to signaling and data plane components using telecom protocols such as Diameter and HTTP.
- Respond promptly and independently to alarms and incidents, particularly during night and off-peak shifts, ensuring minimal impact to services.
- Perform pre-deployment and post-deployment validations for software upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to guarantee network stability.
- Use monitoring and diagnostic tools like One Console, Splunk, OpenSearch, and vendor-specific EMS/NMS for real-time fault detection and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate and manage break-fix activities, collaborating with vendors, engineering teams, and field operations to resolve network faults efficiently.
- Document incident reports, troubleshooting steps, and resolution details clearly and promptly in ticketing and knowledge management systems.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational documentation to improve team efficiency.
- Support junior NOC staff through knowledge sharing and mentoring, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Key Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with packet core network elements such as UPF, SMF, GGSN, MME, AMF, NRF, SMSF, NEF, SGSN, MAG, and ePDG.
- In-depth understanding and practical experience with telecom signaling and data protocols like Diameter and HTTP in live networks.
- Proficiency with monitoring and diagnostic platforms including One Console, Splunk, OpenSearch, and vendor-specific EMS/NMS tools.
- Ability to independently perform pre/post-deployment validations and troubleshoot issues arising from deployments.
- Experience managing break-fix activities with clear communication and coordination among stakeholders.
- Solid Linux command-line skills for log analysis, scripting, and system diagnostics.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, engineering teams, and operations.
- Excellent documentation skills for incident reports, RCA, and SOPs.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to mentor and share knowledge.
