PSCR-001-14160-SD Position Description The CANES Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the operation, administration, and maintenance of the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) infrastructure aboard U.S. Navy platforms. Key Responsibilities Administer, configure, and maintain CANES network hardware and software components, including switches, routers (including backbones), firewalls, and servers. Implement and maintain network security measures, including patching, vulnerability management, and incident response coordination. Perform backup, disaster recovery, and configuration management activities, ensuring system redundancy and integrity Document network configurations, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Participate in the planning, integration, and testing of new hardware, software, and upgrades. Provide Tier II/III support to shipboard personnel and coordinate with shore-based network operations centers as needed.
Requirements: Experience supporting DoD/DoN Networking and Information Systems performing troubleshooting and basic installation and configuration of information systems. Three years of work-related experience in computer technician support. High School Diploma.
Desired Experience: Providing CANES Administration/Support and associated systems for the US Navy. Integrated Shipboard Environment (ISE) experience Hosted Application and Connected Systems Implementation Manual (HACSIM) Use of AI Automation tools (e.g. traffic analysis, root-cause analysis, etc.)
