*Position Overview:*
The LPN functions under the direct supervision of the Lead Nurse and Nurse Practitioner of Brooks Healing Center LLC. The LPN provides nursing care to clients of all ages, within their scope of practices – as delegated by their supervisor. The LPN plays an integral role in giving medical care that is necessary for clients to begin their recovery journey from Substance Abuse Disorder.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Assumes responsibility and accountability for designated patients
* Provides Nursing Care to all patients of all ages
* Implements and supervises the Treatment Plan for detoxification patients and evaluates the effectiveness of plan based on pertinent clinical findings
* Performs intakes as required
* Provides nursing care and documents care provided in the medical record
* Gathers data relevant to the patient’s individual needs
* Elicits important information concerning the patient’s progress
* Documents nursing observations according to hospital charting standards
* Administers medications and treatments per company policy
* Follows company policies and regulatory requirements regarding Medication Management
* Administers and reviews lab results
* Reports symptoms, reactions and progress of patient to the Nurse Practitioner, Lead Nurse, clinical department, and/or any other parties who may need to be informed
* Pursues proper chain of command to attain a satisfactory solution
* Assists the client in understanding the nature of the disease of addiction and the need for treatment
* Works in conjunction with entire treatment team to assure that all patients receive satisfactory care and initiates changes to improve patient care as needed
* Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
* May be responsible for cleaning and serving patient meals as needed
* Assists the Lead Nurse in patient and family education
* Responsible for knowledge of legal aspects of nursing
* Completes all trainings required by the State of Tennessee and The Joint Commission
* Completes CLIA waived training and follows the guidelines and steps for conducting and collecting samples for tests such as the Urine Drug Screening (Cups/Dipsticks), a Glucometer, Pregnancy tests, when applicable.
* Must attend all mandatory staff meetings unless there is a documented medical excuse
* Performs all other duties assigned
*Education and Experience:*
* Must be currently registered and licensed with State Board of Nursing
* Current BLS Certification
* Previous experience in a Nursing role in a SUD Treatment facility is desirable
* Must present a professional demeanor
* Must have good interpersonal skills
* Must maintain a calm and reasonable attitude during crisis and conflict
* Must demonstrate initiative and good judgment
* Must respond appropriately to routine and emergency situations
* Must be able to set and revise priorities based on changes in the situation
* If recovering from SUD, two years of verifiable abstinence required with active participation in the appropriate Twelve Step program preferred.
Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
