*Pharmacist in Charge *
*Job Summary:*
The Pharmacist-in-Charge ensures that safe, efficient and cost-effective drug therapy is provided to our customers. The key function of this role is processing compounded prescriptions, with a keen focus on providing service excellence. As Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will be responsible for coordinating all activities of the dispensary and overseeing all compounding of prescriptions.
*Duties:*
*Compliance and Training*
* Ensure compliance with applicable regulations pertaining to both the practice of pharmacy and non-sterile, 503a pharmaceutical compounding
* State and Federal Regulations
* HIPAA and OSHA compliance
* USP compliance
* Maintain professional knowledge, skills, and competence in areas of responsibility
* Training and ongoing competency assessment of staff
* Upkeep and management of pharmacy specific SOPs
* Identification of opportunities for improvements in pharmacy systems
* Maintenance of equipment utilized in compounding
*Dispensing and Quality Assurance*
* Manage pharmaceutical compounding, quality assurance and dispensing
* Ensure the availability of pharmaceuticals and supplies
* Maintain patient and prescriber records utilizing PK Software
* Input and prescription orders
* Develop compounded formulations
* Review and assess compounded formulas and finished compounded products
* Appropriately intervene in the instances of drug allergies, potential drug interactions, as documented in medication profile
* Perform final verification of all prescription orders
* Effectively communicate to patients the recommendation of drug regimen for all prescriptions
* Manage pharmacy’s potency testing program
* Maintain Controlled Substance inventories
*Clinical*
* Work alongside practitioners to improve clinical outcomes, and with pharmacy staff to develop your own style of patient and community outreach
* Collaborate with practitioners to develop compounds best suited for individual patient needs
* Coordinate and relay information from and between staff
* Access to functional and integrative medicine resources
*Qualifications:*
* Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
* R.Ph. or Pharm.D.
* Experience in compounding pharmacy practice
* Licensed and in good standing with the California Board of Pharmacy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65.00 - $85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
