Responsibilities: Build and configure the network infrastructure, including physical and wireless networks, routers, switches, and firewalls Perform routine maintenance, apply patches and updates, and upgrade hardware and software to ensure optimal performance and security Implement and manage security measures like firewalls, virus protection, and access controls to protect data and systems Monitor network performance, diagnose and repair problems, and ensure maximum uptime for users Work with other IT teams, vendors, and third-party services to implement new systems and resolve complex issues Define, document, and enforce network standards and configurations
Requirements: Strong understanding of network infrastructure, hardware, and protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, and DHCP The ability to think analytically and solve complex network problems quickly and efficiently is essential Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and stakeholders A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is typically required. Relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+, are highly valued by employers Recent experience as a Network Engineer Recent Cisco routing and switching Design / Engineer experience, not just operations Will be some break/fix Strong Layer 2/3 experience Aruba, Arista are nice to have skills not required, can be trained Zscaler and Palo Alto are nice to have skills not required Hybrid 3 days per week in downtown Milwaukee, WI 6+ month contract to hire Must be US Citizen 40 hours per week M-F Looking at Mid and Sr level Engineers (not Architects) Will be working on Aruba, Arista and Cisco products Need a routing and switching Network Engineer Dexian is a leading provider of staffing, IT, and workforce solutions with over 12,000 employees and 70 locations worldwide.
