The registered dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy to ambulatory patients individually or in a group setting. The registered dietitian provides a nutrition assessment, determines and implements a nutrition care plan and intervention. Develops and implements nutrition education programs for the general public, community organizations and for medical and clinic staff. Field of Study Bachelor's Degree Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Registered Dietitian (RD) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist preferred Work Experience Dietitian Possesses planning, leadership and organizational skills. Provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical goals. Identify and provide age specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural needs of the patients and their families Evaluate, interpret, monitor and document the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
