*Role Purpose*
The Professional Services Engineer is a *technical project engineer* responsible for *designing, deploying, and implementing client infrastructure solutions*. This role focuses on the *hands-on technical execution* of projects — servers, networks, firewalls, cloud, and security — ensuring every implementation is delivered accurately, on time, and according to Rarity Solutions’ standards.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Lead *technical implementation* of infrastructure projects:
* Windows and Linux servers
* Switching, routing, and firewall deployments (Ubiquiti, Cisco, etc.)
* Cloud migrations (Microsoft 365, Azure)
* Backup, disaster recovery, and endpoint security
* Serve as the *technical lead on assigned projects*, coordinating with the Project Manager and vCIO.
* Troubleshoot and resolve *complex technical challenges* during project execution.
* Ensure Rarity’s *standard tool stack* (Autotask, IT Glue, RMM, Datto, Fortinet, monitoring/automation) is *deployed and maintained consistently* across all client environments.
* Document all technical work with clarity in Autotask, IT Glue, and other systems of record.
* Provide *technical mentorship* to junior Professional Services Technicians.
* Contribute to refining technical standards, playbooks, and automation used across the Professional Services team.
*Success Metrics*
* Accuracy and quality of project implementations.
* On-time delivery of technical scopes.
* Client satisfaction following technical deployments.
* Quality of documentation and completeness of handoffs.
* Reduced escalations during or after project delivery.
*Qualifications*
* *Bachelor’s degree* in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* *5+ years of technical project delivery experience* in an MSP or IT services environment.
* Expertise in at least 3 of the following areas:
* Microsoft 365 / Azure AD migrations
* Windows Server & Active Directory
* Networking (switching, routing, firewall configuration)
* Cloud infrastructure deployments
* Backup/DR and endpoint security
* Proficiency with *Autotask PSA, IT Glue, and RMM tools*.
* Strong troubleshooting, configuration, and deployment skills.
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Microsoft (AZ-104, MS-700), Fortinet NSE 4+, VMware, or Security+ certifications.
* Hands-on experience with Datto, Ubiquiti, EDR with SOC/SIEM, etc.
* Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python) experience.
* Prior mentorship or technical leadership on project teams.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
