GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Training Officer IV is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, and delivery of comprehensive training programs for the Regional Emergency Services. This role ensures that emergency personnel are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to perform safe and effective work in fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, hazardous materials response, and other specialized disciplines. The Training Officer IV also oversees curriculum design, instructional delivery, performance evaluation, and compliance with applicable legislation, standards, and best practices. In addition, the position provides leadership in the mentorship and development of staff, supports succession planning, and contributes to organizational readiness through ongoing needs assessment, program improvement, and the integration of innovative training methodologies and technologies.
