As Riverside Natural Foods continues its data transformation journey, we are expanding our Master Data & Analytics team by adding a Master Data Lead. Master Data is the Key. This critical role will support and enhance our SAP-based Master Data Governance framework by proactively maintaining high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across the organization—particularly within the Business Partner, Material and Plant domains.

The Enterprise Master Data Lead will oversee and optimize our enterprise-wide master data governance, focusing strongly on SAP platforms. This role will lead to cross-functional initiatives to ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across business units while driving the best data management and governance practices. The Enterprise Master Data Lead will own our master data quality, lead data investigations and remediations, and support broader enterprise data governance initiatives. The ideal candidate is experienced and fast learning. This is a technical leadership role.

Primary Responsibilities: Strategic
  • Champion a culture of data ownership and stewardship across the business.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Architect and analysts to uphold and evolve Riverside's enterprise master data governance framework and strategy.
  • Advocate for master data best practices across departments, including Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, R&D, Finance, and Manufacturing.
  • Serve as a cross-domain subject matter expert (SME) for Business Partner, Material, Plant and other master data domains within SAP platforms and MDG (i.e. S/4 H, IBP, Employee Central, etc.)
Operational
  • Operationalize and lead the timely and accurate creation, maintenance, and enrichment of business partner and material master data across SAP S/4, IBP, MDG, and other platforms based on our Transformation roadmap.
  • Actively monitor, identify, and resolve data quality issues before they escalate; initiate root cause analyses and cross-functional remediations.
  • Drive the monitoring and reporting of data quality KPIs across all functions and implement proactive measures to maintain high data hygiene in collaboration with the Master Data Analysts.
  • Manage the lifecycle of master data domains (e.g., Business Partner, material and Plant).
  • Oversee and execute data quality initiatives, including profiling, cleansing, and validation.
  • Provide coverage and cross-training for both Master Data Analysts, acting as a backup when required.
  • Build strong relationships with business users to improve master data workflows and enforce compliance with standards.
  • Analyze and document data discrepancies and drive corrective action with functional teams – Provide training as needed.
  • Configure SAP MDG process optimization, rule configuration, and approval workflows.
  • Support data readiness and alignment for enterprise-wide initiatives, including IBP and digital supply chain.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation in data processes within the CPG Space.
Qualifications: Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, or related field.
  • 6 years of experience in master data management roles, ideally in the CPG
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG (Business Partner & Material domains required).
  • Exposure to SAP IBP is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data cleansing tools, and business process documentation. (FTR, SSOT and Golden Record)
  • Agile or project management certification is an asset.
  • Own and run a Master Data Governance Council.
Technical Skills
  • Be able to configure SAP MDG.
  • Strong literacy in SAP S/4 HANA master data (BP, MM03 and more).
  • Demonstrated ability to own and resolve complex master data issues independently.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills—especially across business and technical teams.
  • A proactive mindset and natural curiosity to investigate inconsistencies and prevent recurrence.
  • High attention to detail, balanced with an ability to see and explain the bigger picture.
  • Ability to constructively challenge peers and foster a culture of data ownership.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; thrives in a dynamic environment.
