We are currently looking for our next Hardware Designer (Electrical) to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. Your role is essential You will support our products throughout their entire life cycle, from the initial concept to production launch.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Work in close collaboration with the mechanical and electronic design teams to develop new products, from initial concept to production launch.
- Autonomously manage engineering changes (ECOs) and provide prompt and effective technical support to overcome production challenges.
- Conduct proactive technology watch on best practices and innovations in electronics to fuel the continuous improvement of our processes and products.
- Design schematics and printed circuit boards (PCBs) and prepare rigorous laboratory tests of prototypes.
- Design and prototype new ideas and proofs of concept (PoC) to solve technical challenges.
- Write and execute detailed validation plans to ensure the reliability and performance of prototypes.
- Draft, update, and revise essential engineering technical documentation.
- Research, qualify, and integrate new components and new suppliers.
- Ensure strong collaboration and information sharing with our multidisciplinary teams.
What you need to join our team:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in both French and English (spoken and written).
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in electronic hardware design.
- Demonstrated experience in managing technical projects across the complete product development lifecycle.
- Solid expertise in electronic board manufacturing processes (DFM, DFA, DFT).
- Good knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and product certifications (UL/CSA, CE).
- Mastery of an electronic board design software, such as Altium Designer or equivalent.
- Experience with the constraints related to the mechanical integration of electrical components.
Assets that make a difference:
- Knowledge of programming languages (Python, etc.).
- Experience in power electronics design.
- Knowledge of industrial communication technologies.
- Experience in lighting product design.
