Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in working with youth ages
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in youth programming, development, adaptive recreation and community resources.
- Strong understanding of the physical, emotional and social needs of youth.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR & AED Certification
- Demonstrated safe work practices
- Valid Class G driver's licence and acceptable driver's abstract
- Member of Parks and Recreation Ontario
- Experience with Active Net Recreation Software System
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate
- Develop, coordinate and implement a variety youth programs
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants, and families.
- Display knowledge, skills and abilities which provide competent leadership in specific program activities. Leadership and supervisory qualities are essential.
- Continue to assess recreational programming needs for youth programs in the community.
- Coordinate community partners and volunteers to enhance programs offered.
- Monitor program participation and collect feedback to improve programming.
- Complete all administrative functions for all Youth Programs including but not limited to program planning, ordering supplies, and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assist with the establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures for the Recreation Services Division as it relates to Youth Programs.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation related to program activities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening and weekend shifts.
- Other duties as assigned
