About this role:

We are currently looking for our future Edge Engineer to join our Digital & IT department located in Grenoble.

As a part of the Digital Operations team, your responsibilities will be to support Edge system design by proposing efficient technical solutions, testing and validating the systems' implementation, integration with automation, and interfaces with other systems like PLC, SCADA, IIoT, BMS, MES or Cloud services. You will also support systems commissioning for our Gigafactory from FAT to SOP and contribute to building a world-class MES Digital Manufacturing Industry 5.0 strategy.

Main responsibilities:
  • Configure and customize Edge SCADA and IIoT solutions, including process authoring, development, unitary, and functional testing.
  • Understand and implement data analysis and visualization use cases on the edge or SCADA platforms as per requirements from the engineering team.
  • Study and implement OPC UA information model for each process.
  • Work with machine suppliers to understand the functionalities and system interface.
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting to Manufacturing systems problems.
  • Contribute in designing solutions to make our Digital Operation platforms group activities efficient and agile (Automated non-regression tests, packages deployment).
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Document and maintain the systems and software, including the design, configuration, testing, and operation procedures.
  • Drive performance tests on platforms for data acquisition rate, load test, data storage, data transfer rate to cloud platform, etc.
  • Support the engineering team in the integration of new sensors and devices.
  • Work with the PLC/automation team for defining and performing FAT and SAT of data connectivity.
  • Develop third-party applications in Python, Java, JavaScript, etc. to implement specific use cases.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in information systems or computer science.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in working on IIoT/ Edge / SCADA solutions.
  • Proficiency in both English and French.
  • Expertise with cloud connectivity protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, REST, Modbus.
  • Expertise with databases such as MongoDB, InfluxDB, Postgres.
  • Good understanding of UML, OPC UA data modelling concepts.
  • Ideally, have experience with Aveva SCADA applications like OMI.
  • Have experience on HighByte or similar Edge platforms.
  • Knowledgeable about Azure cloud platform.
  • Experience providing detailed and complex root-cause analysis support and maintenance to systems hardware and software as required.
  • Easily adapt to a multi-cultural environment.
  • Versatile, problem-solving, can-do and go-get attitude.
