*Overview*
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will transform lives through personalized therapy and compassionate care. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions to help individuals of all ages regain independence and improve their quality of life. This position is primarily focused on the school setting, however there is availability to grow our OT service line in our outpatient clinic and some home health services. You will be at a company that prioritizes empowering patients to achieve their goals through tailored care plans and innovative strategies. Your dedication will foster meaningful progress in diverse populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from acute or post-acute conditions.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs using physiology knowledge and medical terminology to develop personalized treatment plans.
* Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
* Design and implement therapeutic interventions across various settings including inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health environments.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and case management efforts that ensure seamless transitions from hospital to community or long-term care.
* Work closely with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities to enhance communication skills, social interaction, and functional independence.
* Provide specialized therapy for geriatrics focusing on mobility, fall prevention, and adaptive equipment use within geriatric care settings.
* Support early intervention programs by engaging with children in pediatric clinics or school environments to foster developmental progress.
* Contribute to the creation of comprehensive care plans that align with patient goals and medical directives.
* Educate patients and families on therapy techniques, safety measures, and adaptive strategies to maximize outcomes.
* Document patient progress accurately while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
* Participate in outpatient or clinic-based programs delivering patient-centered occupational therapy tailored to individual needs.
* Engage in continuous professional development by staying current with advancements in occupational therapy practices and relevant medical knowledge.
*Experience*
Candidates should bring a robust background in occupational therapy with experience across multiple healthcare environments such as schools and home health services. Prior work with pediatric populations in early intervention or school-based programs is highly valued. Experience working with people with autism or disabilities will strengthen your application. Familiarity with care plans development, case management processes, and discharge planning is essential for success in this role. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, medical terminology, and speech therapy fundamentals as they relate to holistic patient care. A successful applicant will have hands-on experience delivering patient care in outpatient settings and home health—and possess a strong understanding of medical protocols relevant to occupational therapy practice. Additionally, experience supporting patients in geriatrics or working within outpatient clinics enhances your ability to adapt therapies across diverse populations. Pay: $41.00 - $50.00 per hour
