As Senior Scrum master, you will join the L&H Crew and have a key role supporting the Business and IT crew leads with the steering of the global roadmap at crew level, transforming teams and processes accordingly to the operating model and supporting the Squads at product level to improve value creation and delivery execution.
You will work closely with the Agile CoE and the Transformation office. You are also hands on and contribute within a squad to coach and grow people.
The squads work in agile mode, with a 1 team mindset (IT and Business teams members working together), in an international context (end-users all over the world, distributed delivery with multiple partners depending on the applications).

Under the responsibility of the L&H crew leads, you will support crew steering (governance, products roadmap, value creation tracking, ..), enable team and process transformation accordingly to the operating model and work within the squads and allow them to function effectively as a team to deliver value at the end of each sprint.

Your key missions will be to:
- Support Crew leads in implementing the new Operating Model
- Contribute to transversal transformation initiatives
- Animate Crew-wide ceremonies that enhance collaboration & transparency
- Provide Guidance on Scor methodology and tooling and promote guidelines
- Help the squads to apply the SCOR agile framework
- Plan deliverables and help teams to continuously improve
- Resolve issues that hinder the teams' work

Thanks to your background as a coach and facilitator, you will serve squads by removing obstacles at team level to maintain uninterrupted focus on the sprint goals and delivery of the product in an efficient and timely manner. You will support the team by helping them enact the scrum process and use technical best practices that will enhance their agility and ensure continuous improvement. You will also support and coach Product and Solution Owners in their role and overall guide squads in their continued development of Agile maturity. You will also contribute to the crew governance.

Key duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing transparency into the squads' processes, progress, and performance, as well as facilitation and organization of scrum ceremonies, communication within squads and with stakeholders, while safeguarding squads' members psychological safety. You will take on the Scrum Master accountability while being supported by Agile coaching to support you in this critical endeavor (notably through the Agile Center of Excellence) with dedicated resources to animate necessary training and change management.

Your activities and tasks will be to:

  • Implement TOM on Crew level
    • Promote and provide guidance on the new Operating Model (roles, responsabilities)
    • Support Crew leads to animate the Crew-level ceremonies (steering committees, product committees etc.)
    • Animate Scrum of Scrum sessions to identify dependencies & track progress on a Crew level
    • Facilitate the quarterly planning sessions and follow-up on progress of features of all teams
  • Referent for the Scrum Masters Community, in collaboration with the Agile CoE
    • Promote and provide guidance on the Scor Agile methodology and principles
    • Animate the Community of Scrum Masters in the crew
    • Promote and maintain the framework for the tools supporting Agile execution (such as Azure DevOps) and their coherent usage amount squads.

    • Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint review meetings, and sprint retrospective meetings
    • Anticipate and remove any impediments that may be hindering the progress of the squad
    • Work closely with Product and Solution Owners to ensure that the products' backlog are efficiently maintained and prioritized
    • Regularly assess the Agile maturity of the team (based on seasons), help PO and SO in defining the improvement action plan for the next season(s), follow-up and regularly report on progress
  • Coach and train
    • Coach squads' members in their adoption of Agile practices, while encourageing members to continuously improve and strive for excellence
    • Ensure the right level of adoption of Agile principles and practices across dedicated squads (e.g., collective responsibility, autonomy, the right level of coordination of both Product and Solution Owners)
    • Coach other stakeholders on Scrum framework and Agile mindset
  • Share information
    • Contribute to the Scrum Master community to share knowledge and expertise

Objectives for the first year (or 2 years)

  • Create self-organizing and flexible teams, fully productive during sprints
  • Ensure the good appropriation of the SCOR agile framework, with all its artifacts and techniques by all squad members

Required experience & competencies

  • At least 7+ years of experience as an Agile Scrum Master, with significant and proven experience facilitating the delivery of complex projects
  • Strong cross-functional background (as opposed to being an expert in one area) and have seen a variety of different business situations and challenges during their career
  • Strong knowledge in Azure Devops (or equivalent tool) framework, deployment and usage

Hard skills

  • Hands-on individual with a doer mentality
  • Strong experience of business & IT agile ways of working
  • While no specific tech-oriented hard skill is necessary for the role, an understanding of technology and data landscape and how it can help the transformation is crucial
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps
  • Fluent in French and English

  • Ability to create highly engaged and motivated teams through outstanding facilitation skills

Required Education

  • Scrum Master / Agile Coaching / Certfied Scrum Master (CSM) / Professional Scrum Master (PSM) / SAFe certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science, information technology, computer engineering or another closely related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or related discipline might also be considered
