BI Data Analyst

gategroup is looking for a data analyst, expert in BI systems and data analytics tools (referred as "BI" in the rest of the description), who will be responsible for collaborating with other team members to design, create, and maintain the BI front-end Solution and architecture in the Enterprise Data Warehouse environment. Technical analysis (including producing design documents), development, maintenance, unit tests and implementation of solutions will also be under the role’s responsibility.

This role is global within the group. It requires significant development expertise and a strong design background including data modeling in PowerBI and other reporting cloud platforms.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• In close collaboration with the BI Projects & Products team, designs, develops and implements appropriate BI solutions (including architecture) aligned with business requirements, functional and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with the Application Developers, Report Developers, Architects, Product Manager, and other stakeholders to provide visibility into the data layer and related pipelines.
• Identify opportunities to leverage data and create innovative solutions.
• Implement, follow technical standards, best practices and IS implementation standards as member of the BI development team.
• Structure and ensure the updating of BI solutions in his (her) scope (Documentation, source codes, application versions, technical components ...).
• Correct any technical issues affecting the operation of BI solutions.
• Guarantee the performance of BI solutions in conjunction with the Operations teams.
• Support the BI Projects & Product team during the testing phases inherent to these activities.
• Ensure the implementation of technical solutions in line with the regulations, laws and procedures in place in connection with the relevant legal departments.
• Provide all the technical information required for the exploitation of BI solutions by the Operations teams.
• Set up and administrate the BI technical environments (Dev, UAT, Production) in close collaboration with the Operations teams.
• Implement BI solutions in line with the SLAs.
• Ensure the software implementation and indicators to measure / monitor the use of the IS in close collaboration with the BI Projects & Product team.

Qualification:

Education:
Engineering school or university degree in the IT or/and BI fields.

Experience:
Recent experience with building and deploying applications in Azure BI Stack (AzureDB, SQL Server, Data Lake, Blob Storage, CosmosDB, Event Hub, Stream Analytics, Azure Function, Power BI, etc.)

Profile and professional skills:

Technological skills:

• Significant experience in BI & Analytics and Data Management.
• Strong skills in BI technologies.
• Expertise in the design and development of BI solutions (big data environment, data warehouse, ...).
• Azure Cloud Platform services (Azure SQL database, Pipelines, MDS ...).
• Understanding of ETL Technologies like Informatica, SSIS, Azure Data Factory etc.
• Experience with SQL.
• Understanding of Python and an interest in Machine Learning.
• Experience migrating data environments from on-prem to cloud (DMS).
• Experience in usage GitHub or Azure DevOPS Git.
• Understanding in the design and development BI solution based on Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault methodology.
• Experience in data governance principles and experience in implementing data controls and master data management based on SQL MDS will be an advantage.
• Critical thinking in problem solving and solution design.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
