* Directs, supervises, evaluates and provides physical therapy services to THCS clients.
* Supervises PTA provision of services.
*Essential Functions of Physical Therapist:*
* The PT complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and maintains regulatory requirements as governed by their licensing.
* The PT ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding clinical operations, fire, safety, and infection control.
* The PT provides Physical Therapy treatment as ordered by the attending physician
* The PT evaluates and formulates recommendations for treatment according to professional standards dictated by the profession and practices according to best practice standards.
* The PT cooperates with THCS clinical team in the coordination and provision of treatment.
* The PT facilitates strength coordination, range of motion, pain, balance, and neuromotor deficits. Cardiopulmonary re-conditioning, transfer and gait training and wound care.
* The PT carries out patient’s current plan of care in regards to therapy needs, assesses and measures changes, responses and development in relation to treatment goals.
* The PT submits documentation on the services provided in a timely manner.
* The PT responds in a safe and appropriate fashion to patient’s emergencies.
* The PT supports and communicates in a goal oriented manner with THCS interdisciplinary team.
* The PT instructs patients and their family in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
* The PT is capable of lifting the equivalent of an adult-size patient.
* The PT participates in in-service programs.
* The PT attends case conferences and all other mandatory meetings.
* The PT participates in continuing education programs.
* The PT performs other duties as assigned or as needed.
* Completes the annual educational requirements as required to maintain the PT license.
* Maintains and ensures HIPAA compliance.
*Education:*
* Fully licensed, registered or certified by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
*Requirements of Physical Therapist:*
* At least two years experience as a Physical Therapist preferred.
* Basic knowledge in computer use.
* Must be CPR certified and have current TB skin test.
*Knowledge Requirements:*
* General therapy procedures and techniques involved in the care of patients, disease processes and possible results, medical terminology, HHA processes and equipment.
* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
* Understanding of HHA basic functions and goals.
* Basic knowledge and understanding of Medicare COP’s and State Program Rules.
* Basic understanding and knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid policy, and private insurance.
* Knowledge and mastery of Point Of Care device.
*Professional Requirements:*
* Completes the annual educational requirements as required to maintain the PTA license.
* Maintains and ensures HIPAA compliance.
* Responsible and accountable to the PT, Supervising RN, the DON, the Assistant DON, the Administrator and the CEO regarding time availability and performance.
* Maintains good rapport and cooperative working relationships with patients, physicians, referrals sources, regulatory agencies and staff.
* Adheres to company dress code.
* Attends annual review and departmental in-service training.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $47.27 - $56.93 per hour
