About the Role As part of the Coinbase Institutional team, you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining a diverse suite of products for institutional clients, including hedge funds, traders, and others. You'll address a variety of needs, from trading and financing to staking and custody. In your position as a Staff Software Engineer on the Institutional Settlements and Transfers team, you will enhance our financial infrastructure by ensuring the secure and efficient movement of funds. You will lead technical direction and mentoring for a team of engineers, playing a pivotal role in the evolution of our financial systems. Your Responsibilities Design and develop services and frameworks that support Coinbase Prime's settlement and transfer operations. Offer technical guidance and oversight, collaborating with management and stakeholders to define and implement the strategic roadmap. Lead projects by managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical know-how. Guide and mentor fellow engineers on design practices and coding standards, promoting a culture of excellence. Produce high-quality, well-tested code for systems that are reliable and fault-tolerant at scale. Work together with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to turn technical visions into actionable plans. What We Seek 8+ years of software engineering experience. A track record of developing fault-tolerant, scalable systems. Experience in architecting and implementing solutions to complex problems. Experience with Ledgering, Trading, or Payment systems at scale. A commitment to building an inclusive financial system for a global audience. Strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of influencing across all levels. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with programming languages like Golang and Ruby. Experience with on-chain activities, including interactions with Ethereum and decentralized applications (dApps). Background in financial systems, banking, or fintech. Understanding of settlement cycles (T+1, T+2) and the roles of clearing houses. Experience navigating rapid company growth. Additional Information Job number: P71946 Compensation for this role varies based on location, with a target annual salary ranging from $211,650 to $249,000 USD. Coinbase also offers a target bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
