Prep Cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Prep Cook to join our butcher shop. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in sausage preparation, meat grinding, and even some meat cutting, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables and meats.
• Assist in meal preparation by following recipes and portioning food according to specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
• Ensure all food safety standards are met, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
• Collaborate with butchers and other kitchen staff to ensure timely completion of tasks
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
• Help with cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils after use.

Skills

• Proficient in food preparation techniques with a solid understanding of the food industry.
• Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment is required.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
• Good knife skills are an asset
• Familiarity with meal preparation processes and kitchen equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
