Über

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Chef to help lead our Wissota Chophouse culinary team. Our restaurant is known for serving succulent high-end steaks and rich seafood in a classy yet modern atmosphere. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in casual/upscale dining. The Chef is responsible for creating unique dining experiences through innovative dishes, while supervising and supporting kitchen staff to ensure the highest standards of food preparation and safety. The Chef position is required to work in position daily.
*Responsibilities*:
- Develop and create features that are innovative and appealing to customers and also reflect seasonal trends and popular culinary trends
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Oversee food service operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of meals
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and other kitchen personnel
- Monitor inventory levels and responsible for all kitchen orders included but not limited to food, dry goods, chemicals, and small wares.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with management to develop new dishes and improve existing menu items
*Qualifications:*
- Proven experience working as a chef, sous chef, or kitchen manager in a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and food service techniques
- Excellent culinary skills with the ability to create delicious and visually appealing dishes
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and practices
- Ability to manage a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills to effectively manage kitchen staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure
-Must have or be able to obtain a food safe handlers license
-Available to work evenings, weekends, and some holiday hours as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
