Pediatric Village Home Care is looking to expand our comprehensive services to include speech and language therapy. This position covers Central Oregon treating children in preschools, daycares, and at The Village Playhouse (clinic). One to two days a week in Madras are required. We specialize in early identification and support, mainly treating birth through 5 years old, with some older kid services. We are specifically looking for someone with a more play based approach, since we see the younger kiddos. Feeding experience is preferred but not required. We are open to a full or part time candidate. This is currently a contract position but can explore an employee position as well.
Pediatric Village is a growing company located in Bend OR. We mainly do home and school visits. We just opened The Village Playhouse which serves as our outpatient clinic. We currently offer pediatric occupational and physical therapy, lactation and breast feeding support, infant craniosacral therapy, and postpartum doula support. Our team offers a multidisciplinary approach to supporting the entire family unit in the early years. We live the village mentality in our work with families and with our work team. The pediatric speech pathologist will assess, diagnosis, and treat communication, language, swallowing and feeding disorders.
The Speech language pathologist will help children improve verbal and non-verbal communication, from forming sounds and words to understanding and using language socially and academically. The therapist will also work on feeding and swallowing difficulties and can collaborate with families and other professionals to create comprehensive treatment plans, making therapy interactive and engaging for the child.
Key roles and responsibilities
* *Assessment and diagnosis:* Evaluate children for a wide range of issues, including speech delays, language comprehension difficulties, stuttering, and disorders related to social communication, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder.
* *Treatment planning:* Develop customized treatment plans that address specific needs.
* *Therapy:* Provide therapy through age-appropriate, engaging activities like games and play to improve speech clarity, language skills, and social interaction.
* *Feeding and swallowing:* Help children with feeding and swallowing difficulties, which can involve oral-motor exercises to strengthen the muscles of the mouth.
* *Collaboration:* Work with families, educators, and other healthcare providers to ensure the child receives comprehensive support.
* *Alternative communication:* Teach children alternative communication methods, such as sign language, if verbal communication is a significant challenge.
Must have an Active Oregon Speech Language Pathology License
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
