We are inviting experienced software architect and engineers to join us in the ShinrAI Center for AI/ML at Takeda to design, build, and support cutting-edge AI/ML solutions including Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI -- that accelerate pharmaceutical R&D. You will collaborate with scientists and data experts to deliver scalable, compliant software platforms that drive discoveries, optimize decision-making, and streamline clinical and real-world evidence analysis. At the ShinrAI Center, we're a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the application of artificial intelligence in developing innovative medicine for patients. We're building a diverse team whose skills, experiences, and backgrounds complement one another. Extensive experience working in Pharma or Biotech is optional. A strong curiosity for a deeper understanding of human health and disease to deliver innovative medicine for patients is a must. Accountabilities: Architect and develop AI/ML-driven software for R&D, including large language model services and multiagent orchestration to solve R&D challenges. Define and document the end-to-end technical architecture for new and existing software applications. Develop and maintain the long-term technical roadmap. Lead the design of robust, scalable, and secure solutions. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, languages, and tools. Establish and enforce architectural standards. Provide technical leadership. Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with DevOps teams. Imagine the art of the possible. Education, Behavioural Competencies, and Skills: BS degree in computer science, engineering or related field. MS or higher degree preferred. 8+ years of industry experience in architecting, building, launching, and maintaining end-to-end ML systems. Partnering cross-functionally with a wide range of stakeholders. Demonstrated passion for making complex technology more accessible. Demonstrated ability in translating big picture business and product ideas. Excellent communication, prioritization, and interpersonal skills. An enthusiasm to ask questions and try and learn new things. Ability to be agile, adaptable, and drive change. Ability to work in global matrix organization. Experience in life sciences and healthcare desirable. Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. For Location: Boston, MA U.S. Base Salary Range: $153,600.00 - $241,340.00 The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
