As a Competitive Intelligence Manager in Givaudan Science & Technology (S&T) Fragrances, you will organise and lead the Competitive Intelligence effort to capture, analyse and share trends and information in fragrance ingredients, delivery systems and health and well-being research and innovation, and related technologies to support & help position the research strategy of the company.

Reporting to the Global Head of S&T Fragrances, working with a cross-departmental and multidisciplinary research team, you will manage a research and innovation intelligence platform that supports the Science & Technology community and also to the Creation and Development teams by identifying technology and ingredient platform gaps and opportunities and supporting your partner argumentation.

In this exciting role based in one of Givaudan’s S&T Fragrances locations in Europe, [Switzerland (Kemptthal) or France (Argenteuil) or United Kingdom (Ashford)] you will:

  1. Work with one other team member, prepare competitive intelligence information to empower our Science & Technology teams, allowing innovation strategy formulation for S&T management and research programmes
  2. Work with the Research Management Committee
  3. Improve processes
  4. Support the knowledge building for the Creation and Development teams and other relevant partners
  5. Create ad hoc reports in response to market events or changes in technical landscapes arise
  6. Work with the Taste & Wellbeing competitive intelligence team to maximise synergies and information sharing

Your professional profile includes:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent, with a scientific relevant background e.g. chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer chemistry, physical chemistry or biochemistry
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position in the Fragrance or Food Industry
  • Experienced in managing complex scientific topics
  • Experienced working with interdisciplinary and remote teams in a matrix organization
  • Enthusiastic about analytics and good understanding in IP
  • Experienced communicating with different partners on different levels
  • Business fluent in English; additional language skills are an advantage
  • Curious, organised, constructive, and team-player with a big enthusiasm for the fragrance industry
