Location: Annapolis Junction, MD Security Clearance: Active Secret or higher [Required] Job Type: Full-Time Target Salary Range* : $85,000 - $110,000 *This represents the potential salary range for this position depending on education level, years of experience and/or certifications in addition to other position specific requirements which may impact salary Position Overview Amatriot is seeking a Network Administrator to provide expertise to a federal client in support of mission-critical systems in defense of the Homeland. The Network Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure, overseeing network administration, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of network systems. Key Responsibilities Network Administration and Maintenance Configure and maintain network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators. Manage, monitor, maintain, and secure networks and tenant network segments that integrate the transport of networks and data. Document and manage Internet Protocol addresses. Organize, document, and manage the delivery of network load balancing services. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal throughput and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using firewall logs and switch packet capture tools. Engage with cross-functional teams to leverage support and collaboration when necessary. Capacity Planning and Integration Conduct network capacity planning and bandwidth management to accommodate future growth and changing business needs. Collaborate with other teams to integrate network infrastructure with cloud services, storage systems, and other IT components. Documentation and Technical Guidance Create and maintain documentation related to network configurations, diagrams, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior network engineers. Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and networking best practices, and recommend adoption as appropriate. Qualifications Experience 7+ years of experience in a Network Administrator role or related field. 5+ years of experience with network device configuration and monitoring. 5+ years of experience with firewall configuration, including Palo Alto, Juniper, or similar technologies. 5+ years of experience with network monitoring tools, including SolarWinds, NetCool, or similar tools. Clearance Active DoD Secret clearance is required. Other Requirements Due to contract requirements, only U.S. citizens can be considered. Candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered. This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime. Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule.
