Über
Provides basic patient care including monitoring vital signs, blood glucose checks, and documenting intake and output. Assists patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support. Observes and reports abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to nursing staff. Maintains clean, safe, and organized patient rooms and unit environments. Performs clerical duties to support nursing station operations, including answering phones and managing basic documentation tasks. Performs 12-lead EKG testing as directed by nursing staff or providers. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary care team. Supports infection prevention practices and patient safety protocols. Performs additional duties as assigned to support patient care and unit operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to safely lift, move, and assist patients and equipment according to safety guidelines. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills used in healthcare settings. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support patient-centered care. Ability to observe, report, and document patient information accurately. Familiarity with infection prevention practices and hospital safety standards. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications Education
Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) completion of Nursing Asst, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Tech program (Required) Or Some College Coursework Completed in an accredited school of nursing to include successful completion of at least 1 semester. (Required)
Licenses/Certifications
CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant or CMA or EMT Upon Hire (Required) or Other: Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing Upon Hire (Required) and BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or within facility-specified time frame (Required)
Experience
1+ years patient care experience in a hospital setting (Preferred)
