Duties & Responsibilities
Performs systems upgrades, system support, and problem logging/troubleshooting using the Action Request System (Remedy/ITSM).
Provides network, server, and desktop administration and help desk support to customers.
Installs, configures, and administers Windows servers and desktop computers.
Configures and administers desktop and server‑based software applications provided by customers.
Provides end‑user support for computer and web account management and problem resolution.
Works with other system administrators and team members to resolve inter‑system issues.
Collaborates with the Information Assurance Manager (IAM) and Information Assurance Officer (IAO) to identify and resolve computer and information system security issues.
Performs remote and on‑site desktop management assistance for users’ computer systems and peripheral devices.
Resolves desktop problems, manages accounts, and resets passwords as needed.
Installs, configures, troubleshoots, relocates, and repairs desktops, peripheral devices, and printers.
Performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
Supports imaging of computer devices (desktop/laptop).
Performs hardware break/fix (including PCs, laptops, workstations, printers, and other peripheral devices).
Performs installation/removal of hardware components such as disk drives, adapter cards, printers, and memory.
Tracks and provides weekly metrics on the completion of all actions.
This job description does not limit the employee to these tasks; additional duties may be assigned by a supervisor.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an IT‑related field.
3–5 years of experience in an IT environment.
DoD 8570 Baseline Certification; IAT Level II: Security+ or Microsoft Technology Associate or CCNA.
National Security background investigation required, Secret clearance.
Skill & Certification Requirements
DoD 8570 Baseline Certification; IAT Level II: Security+ or Microsoft Technology Associate or CCNA.
Windows Server 2008 and 2012 experience.
Requires sitting for extended periods; sedentary work.
Extended use of keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone.
May require lifting 20–50 lbs.
