Job Overview Drive revenue growth by acquiring new accounts, using suggestive selling, and building long‑term customer relationships. Coordinate and deliver services, process orders, and provide technical support to customers. Work 80 % in the office and 20 % in the yard, cross‑training with dispatch.
Responsibilities
Answer and document incoming telephone calls to assist customers with rental needs.
Perform routine rental transactions: create reservations, schedule pick‑ups, prepare quotes, and process returned orders.
Assist walk‑in customers, vendors, and job applicants in a professional manner.
Help customers select appropriate equipment for their job to ensure safety and satisfaction.
Communicate via two‑way radio with yard and shop regarding loading/unloading and equipment needs.
Review credit‑card rental file daily for accurate billing.
Enter lost rentals, rate inquiries, and service calls into the counter logbook.
Monitor open contract bin for items to sell or close and verify credit‑card rentals.
Provide leads to field sales personnel for follow‑up.
Assist with loading/unloading and delivery of equipment when required.
Work extended hours, on‑call/standby rotation, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
Preferred 2 years of inside sales (direct customer contact) experience.
Strong sales ability: suggestive selling or upselling with relationship‑building skills.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Technologically proficient: Microsoft Suite, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), AS 400 highly preferred.
Excellent communication skills, personable and engaging.
Valid unrestricted driver’s license; minimum age 21 to drive company vehicle.
High attention to detail and the ability to switch tasks quickly.
Bilingual Spanish preferred (not required).
