Quevera is seeking a highly skilled
Linux Systems Administrator
with an
active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
to support mission-critical programs in
Linthicum, Maryland .
In this role, you will administer, maintain, and optimize Linux-based environments that support secure enterprise infrastructure and critical national security missions.
Working within an Agile, security-focused environment, you will deploy and maintain Linux servers, manage AWS cloud infrastructure, automate system administration using Ansible, and support system patching, security compliance, and infrastructure modernization. You'll collaborate with engineers and cybersecurity professionals to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing enterprise systems.
As an Linux Systems Administrator, you'll work alongside experienced technical teams, support innovative technologies, and contribute to mission-critical solutions while continuing to grow your expertise in Linux administration, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise automation.
Job Responsibilities
Perform Linux server administration, including system installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Stand up, configure, and maintain Linux server environments supporting enterprise applications.
Monitor, patch, and upgrade Linux servers and AWS cloud instances to maintain system security and performance.
Utilize Ansible to automate system administration, configuration management, and deployment activities.
Assist with implementing and maintaining security compliance controls in accordance with program requirements.
Support documentation of applicable and non-applicable security controls and system configurations.
Install, configure, and integrate new hardware and software into existing networked environments.
Assist with the replacement, decommissioning, and disposal of obsolete or end-of-life hardware.
Maintain accurate system inventory records and document infrastructure changes.
Troubleshoot system issues and resolve hardware, software, and operating system problems.
Collaborate with engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure reliable and secure system operations.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, system procedures, and operational guides.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through automation, process optimization, and infrastructure modernization.
Ensure system reliability, availability, and compliance with established operational and security standards.
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
Minimum of three (3) years of Linux server administration experience within the past three years.
Minimum of one (1) year of AWS experience within the past year.
Minimum of one (1) year of Ansible experience within the past year.
Experience patching, upgrading, and maintaining Linux servers and AWS cloud instances.
Security+ certification required.
Experience configuring and supporting enterprise server environments.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills
Experience administering AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
Experience using Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization technologies.
Experience with Elasticsearch and Splunk for monitoring, logging, and analytics.
Experience developing automation scripts using Bash and/or Python.
Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in secure or mission-critical environments.
Familiarity with security compliance frameworks and system hardening best practices.
Experience working within an Agile development or operations environment.
Experience supporting infrastructure modernization and automation initiatives.
