Farmers Insurance offers a unique Agency Mentorship Program designed for driven individuals who want to learn what it takes to successfully run an insurance agency before launching one of their own.
This 12-month mentorship program allows you to work directly alongside an experienced Farmers mentor agent, gaining hands‑on experience in agency operations, sales, client relationships, team development, marketing, retention, and agency growth.
You will not be learning from the sidelines. You will be actively developing the skills, habits, and knowledge needed to build and lead a successful agency.
As you grow through the program and reach the required premium goals, you may be eligible to graduate into your own Farmers agency — without needing the initial capital review typically required to open an agency.
This program is ideal for someone who has the drive to lead, grow, and create a long‑term career path, but wants structure, real‑world experience, and mentorship before launching independently.
What This Program Offers
Through the Farmers Agency Mentorship Program, you will have the chance to:
Learn directly from an experienced mentor agent
Gain hands‑on experience running and growing an agency
Develop sales, leadership, and agency management skills
Build confidence before launching independently
Work toward graduating into your own Farmers agency
Potentially bypass the initial capital review upon successful completion
Receive training, coaching, and support throughout the program
Represent a nationally recognized insurance brand
We are looking for motivated, coachable, competitive individuals who are ready to build something bigger than a traditional career.
Whether you have a background in sales, leadership, insurance, customer service, management, or agency development, this program can provide the roadmap, mentorship, and support to help you take the next step.

Responsibilities As an Insurance Sales Representative, you will be responsible for:
Connecting with prospective clients to understand their insurance needs and recommend appropriate coverage options
Quoting and selling insurance products, including auto, home, renters, life, and business insurance
Following up with leads, referrals, and current clients to build relationships and generate new sales
Educating clients on available coverage options, policy features, and protection strategies
Meeting or exceeding individual sales goals and contributing to overall agency growth
Maintaining accurate client records, policy information, and follow‑up activity
Providing excellent customer service before, during, and after the sale
Cross‑selling additional products to help clients build a well‑rounded insurance plan
Building relationships within the local community to create referral and networking opportunities
Staying current on carrier guidelines, product updates, licensing requirements, and agency processes
Representing the agency and Farmers Insurance in a professional, ethical, and positive manner
Requirements The ideal candidate will have:
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
A positive, professional, and coachable attitude
Motivation to meet goals and grow within a sales environment
Ability to connect with new clients, ask questions, and identify their insurance needs
Strong follow‑up skills and attention to detail
Comfort with phone calls, in‑person conversations, email, and client outreach
Ability to learn insurance products, quoting systems, and agency processes
A desire to be part of a growing agency and contribute to its success
Previous sales, customer service, or insurance experience preferred, but not required
Active Property & Casualty license preferred, or willingness to obtain required licensing
Life & Health license preferred, or willingness to obtain after hire
Reliable, organized, and able to manage daily sales activity
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus
