Munden Truck & Equipment Ltd. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Commercial Transport Mechanic to join our team full-time *(start date to be determined).*
The ideal candidate will hold a valid Journeyman certification and have a strong background in commercial transport repair, diagnostics, and maintenance. As a Journeyman Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles and equipment to a high standard, while working collaboratively with our team to ensure efficient shop operations and customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Service Managers, the Journeyman Mechanic is responsible for supporting the daily Workshop repair requests according to Munden’s values and safety policies. Your role involves supporting daily Workshop repair demands with precision and maintaining quality standards. You will be instrumental in creating an inspiring team environment, where communication is clear and everyone is motivated to achieve collective goals. When working in the shift with support from the Service Managers and Lead-hands, the position supports the workflow processes of the workshop such as vehicle maintenance and repairs, apprentice training, Company safety, and supporting Parts Department inventory control.
*Duties*
· Perform diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and preventive maintenance on a variety of commercial vehicles and equipment, including trucks, trailers, pickups, buses, and equipment
· Complete all work in accordance with established procedures and manufacturer specifications, maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency
· Accurately document all repair orders prior to submission, including vehicle mileage, hours, VIN, make, and model
· Ensure timely and organized processing of all shop paperwork in accordance with established workflows
· Communicate proactively with team members and lead hands regarding repair progress, delays, or emerging issues to support clear customer communication
· Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures without exception
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with shop standards
· Adhere to daily service scheduling as directed by lead hands and service management
· Report any workplace incidents or accidents to the manager on duty promptly and complete required documentation
· Perform additional duties as required and inherent to the position
*Experience*
· Journeyman Commercial Transport Mechanic certification required
· CVIP inspectors license
· Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment, including trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery
· Mobile service repair involving both on and off highway maintenance
· Familiarity with shop documentation practices, including accurate completion of repair orders and maintenance records is highly beneficial
· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Position Requirements*
· Journeyman Commercial Transport Mechanic ticket
· Pre employment drug & alcohol testing
· Valid class 5 driver’s license
· Updated resume with references
*Shift Schedule (Days & Evenings)*
· Position start date April 2026 (specific date to be determined)
· 4 on 4 off, 10h/day
· Rotation of 7am to 5:30pm and 2pm-12:30am (2 week shift rotation)
*Compensation (hourly)*
· Journeyman Red Seal rage $49-$55
