Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Armed Patrol Unit in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access activity with strong customer service and communication. In this armed post, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and a caring approach while delivering agile, reliable, and innovative service each day.

Job Schedule:

- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, road access points, and perimeter locations, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, vehicles, and/or deliveries in accordance with site protocols, reporting irregularities and escalating concerns through appropriate channels.
- Support traffic and access flow during routine operations, incidents, and/or special circumstances while maintaining visible presence and following post orders and applicable procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
