Defend Freedom®, is accomplished by serving customers and providing top-quality solutions to our military, law enforcement, and civilian customers seeking premium firearms for home defense, hunting, and sport shooting.
As the Warranty Representative , you will be responsible for the functions outlined below
Essential Functions:
- Repair and modify firearms to blueprint and customer specifications
- Use hand tools and machines such as grinders, planers, and millers
- May restore antique guns, convert old rifles to up-to-date firearms, or adapt factory-made rifles to the special needs of customers
- Communicate directly with customers to troubleshoot issues and find a solution
- Work directly with retailers to troubleshoot and fix range rental firearms
- Clear and concise communication to the customer on the root cause and detailed corrective action.
- Participates in the company’s efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity
- Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Technical two year gunsmithing degree or a combination of related experience, education, and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- High degree of experience in how to handle and operate a gun
- Understand the various assembly requirements, such as fitting the action (moving parts) and barrel into the stock (handle or butt end)
- Must be able to attach optical sights, pistol grips, and recoil pads, barrels, and any other
- Considerable time spent doing practical shop work, which covers parts design, barrel fitting, soldering, welding, and custom stock making.
- Experience with grinders, drill presses, lathes, saws, drills and various metal working tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the workday.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
- Travel up to 5% of the year
